Workshops are an important part of HIFI's public service. These events offer two days of think-tank style presentations with short discussions afterwards. Participants are encouraged to join the discussions that span legal, social, and logistic aspects of safety. Current issues such as draft regulations, product litigation and legislation, and future education techniques are all brought to the table. Attendance is limited to ensure for a cohesive group and full discussion of cutting edge issues in safety. The focus issue of the 2006 Workshop is the creation of a public interest safety act that provides tax credits to businesses who promote the use of system safety and safety appliances through voluntary adoption. Such an initiative could radically change the face and the culture of workplace safety The workshops offer a unique opportunity for persons committed to safety to interact with certified safety professionals, safety engineers, and legal professionals dedicated to the advancement of a safer society. They are conducted in an open forum, so questions can easily be asked and answered by participants and attendees. The workshops can be applied to the per annum CEUs necessary to maintaining professional designations in a variety of fields. Email HIFI for more information on this subject.
